Music and memory

 Most musical things that bring a memory to me is when I listen to songs that are either relatable to what’s happening, has happened, or I think that will happen. This is most commonly a feeling or a mindset of a mood. Sometimes songs bring good memories from when you first discovered it and the aesthetic times where life was simple(2016). Or even years of high school(2018-2022) When I think about those times, these few songs comes to mind, good, bad, or both. I chose these three songs because they give me those exact vibes.



This is a song that everyone knows and have done a very popular challenge for, loved this song and my school even got involved with this song challenge.  By now, I’m sure you already know what I’m talking about and feel free to see if you still got it.

I’m going to get this one out the way, the sad song, who likes to remember sad songs that brought sad memories. It did help me get over a challenging time in life..live life(who hasn’t). Don’t know how many fans of this artist are in this class, but I’m sure you’ve heard it in tik tok somewhere or just the instrumental. 

Let’s get to something lit, kind of funny. Everyone knows this song. Very nostalgic, no doubt you know every lyric to 5is song. Thought of this just bc I thought it was funny. If you were on vine, dubsmash, YouTube when it wasn’t so sensitive, and musically(before it was tik tok) you’ll definitely know this song. This brings fun vibes and just a mood of clowning around. 


Last song, I’ll add this one, this song if very peak and EVERYONE was hitting this dance outta no where. Try not to dance with this one, apologies, couldn’t find a clean version:/

    Hi Camron! In your post I could notice you like trap music, maybe it is because you play the percussion and like to hear those beats. When I hear trap music I like to hear trap songs and focus on the beat, it is actually very interesting. I am sorry I don't know the song challenges, maybe it is because I am from Spain and thta challenge didn't arrive there, but definitely I will look them up.

    Hi Cameron! First off I just have to say that listening to most of your song choices brought back so many memoires for me which was kind of funny. The Black Beatles song brough back memoires from school doing this "challenge" in my PE class. And your third song makes me think of my brother because he used to listen to that and songs like that all of the time.

    Hey Cameron! MAN these songs take me all the way back to middle school. Man, you are VERY right. Life was MUCH more simpler and joyful back then. Just like the music. I remember dancing to these songs when we had Musically, before it became TikTok.

 After venturing and doing some research. I’ve picked my few cultures that has some interesting music and one will consist the past and modern day. On to the first one and I’ll start it off with the past. This is the type of songs Russia was jamming out to as they got through their day.                     Like most cultures, they have bands and singers.  Like most traditional things, things have Chang and evolved…for this one particular some Russian songs evolved too much.. Music and family

 For this blog, I reached out to my step dad being that he’s the one who I know that is actively involved with instrumental music and is a musician. He plays at my church and put my interest into drums and made me pursue more. For the main part of my life I seen him as just a piano player, even when him and my mom were together, after watching and observing and doing this blog…I’ve learned more. The person I’m talking about is Anthony McGowan, who started out with music at four years old. First instrument was guitar. A few songs and artist that that inspired him for guitars were songs like  Eventually he moves to keyboard and started playing more from 9 to now.
